Gita Dyuti 2009 (Bhagavadgita Prashnottara Maalika), a Grand Success
 
[August 2nd 2009 to September 13th 2009]
 
First of its kind ever, Cultural India's Gita Dyuti 2009, a Bhagavadgita Prashnottara Maalika (Quiz) programme ended with a grand success on September 13, 2009 with His Holiness Sri Sri Gangadharendra Saraswati Swamiji of Swarnavalli Mutt, Sirsi quizzing students of 7 schools and declaring Poornaprajna Sadashivanagar Students as winners and giving Rs. 30,000 cash awards to 12 students, with an audience of more than 300 people at Ragi Gudda Temple premises, Jayanagar 9th Block, Bangalore.
 


 

Gita Dyuti 2009 - Bhagavadgita Prashnottara Maalika - Quiz programme consisting of 2 written rounds and 2 Oral Quiz rounds (Semifinals & Finals) was launched at www.culturalindia.org on Sunday, 2nd August 2009 with a unique "Gita Yatra" from ISKCON, Bangalore to Sri Vani Vidya Kendra, Rajajinagar 2nd Stage. 80 students from 6 schools took part in a pada yatra for 1.5 kms chanting 12th Chapter, "Bhakti Yoga" of Bhagavad Gita.

 

Written Round 1: Started on Sunday, 2nd August 2009. around 1,500 students from 43 schools participated in this round, by answering questions 18 questions from 1st 3 chapters of Bhagavadgita on the internet website www.culturalindia.org.

 

Written Round 2: Started on Wednesday, 19th August 2009, Round 2 had questions from 4th to 18th chapter of Bhagavadgita and students from 33 schools successfully completed the 2nd round.

 

SEMI FINALS: Students from 25 schools qualified for Semi-finals (oral, quiz type) held on Sunday, 6th September 2009. For the convenience of students, the Semi-finals was at 2 places: 

1. Shri Kumaran's School, Tata Silk Farm, Near Ganesh Mandir, in Bangalore South at 10 am on Sunday, 6th Sept 2009 2. Sri Vidyabharati School, Near G D Naidu Hall, Rajajinagar 1st Block, in Bangalore North at 3 pm on Sunday, 6th Sept 2009

 
GRAND FINALE: Held at Ragigudda Temple, Jayanagar 9th Block, the programme started with rendering of 18 slokas of Bhagavadgita in Carnatic Music by 2 young vocalists. Dileep Bellave, the host and Swamiji asked questions to 24 students declaring 3 schools as top 3 winners and giving Rs. 30,000 cash award. A unique book "Gita Dyuti", consisting of Slokas and meaning of Bhagavadgita was released by the managing director of Ramanashree Hotels and Resorts,
Sri S. Shadakshari
, who is also a well know scholar and a spiritual columnist.

The quiz was conducted by His Holiness Sri Sri Gangadharendra Saraswati Swamiji of Swarnavalli Mutt and a book "Gita Dyuti" having Slokas and Tatparya of Bhagavadgita was released by Sri Shadakshari, MD of Ramanashree Group of Hotels & Resorts.

Launch: Gita Dyuti 2009 was launched on Sunday, 2nd August 2009 with a unique Gita Yatra from ISKCON, Bangalore to Sri Vani Vidya Kendra, Rajajinagar 2nd Stage.
